Today I took the long awaited and dreaded GRE. For four years, I have known the day would come that I would again take a college entrance exam. Yet, that knowledge translated into action roughly a month ago when I actually bit the bullet and went to the testing center to register for the exam. 150 dollars later, I left in a panic. I now had one month to re learn math without a calculator, or in the case of geometry, learn it for the first time (lets just say higher level math classes in high school weren't my thing) study word roots, memorize a theasarus, and a 500 card package of words such as prevaricate, bevy, amalgamate, ephumeral, and pedant. The panic I felt one month ago evolved into full fledge crisis mode over Thanksgiving. Yesterday I had my doubts that I would do well enough to go to graduate school. Afer all, they expect people to plan for this test. In my cram sessions over the break it became very clear to me why the GRE prep class is two hours a week for a month. I I feared that this one test was going to mar my chance to apply this fall. But today, its over! We celebrated by putting up our tree and going out to ice cream. I was goi ng to put pictures of our tree cutting extravaganza,(and one day I will) but then I found a few fun pictures on my memory card that I told Becky I would post in August so tada!!! here they are.

For those of you who haven't heard (or haven't believed us) we were goat ranchers this past summer. Alan had roughly 170 goats on a weed project. Guess who his hired help was??? Thats right. Me, and of course Bev was always willing to come help out! I will have you all know that I learned to put up a pretty decent electric fence. Our goat project taught us many things such as; you can transport three trouble making goats from Logan to Burley tied in the bed of the pickup truck. Now that the dust, the time taken to check on them, the time taken to keep them out of neighboring fields, and the time taken to move them, working with them until 10, 11, or even midnight, and all the other fun things that go with caring for animals are nothing more than distant memories, I can say that it was a great experience! I may even be willing to do it once more! The following pictures are a tribute to Bev being a good sport throughout our goat adventure. The second picture has got to be one of my favorite pictures this summer!


It is getting late and I am getting tired so I will end with these pictures The first one is Alan and I at Emily's wedding. Aren't we cute? The second picture is proof that amongst scholastic triumphs I am also triumping in the kitchen.... occasionally. I learned to make bagels. They are not pretty, but they sure are good (and cheap!)
