Fun Family and the 4rth of July

Our holiday weekend coincided with the annual Gerratt Family Reunion. Although our numbers as cousins dwindled a bit this year we still managed to have a great time. Our reunion included; softball for all ages, races, swimming, great food and a talent show which we cleverly entitled Gerratts' Got Talent. And come to find out, we Gerratt's do have talent! One of the highlights of the show appeared with our special "guest" (aka Mom and Dad) stars and their rendition of I've got you Babe.

Don't let these old guys fool you. They still play one tough ball game. I played for the last third of the game and feared for my safety every time I touched the ball!!

Part of the swimming festivities included a sort of contest to see who could outdo each other on the high dive. It may seem like just the little kids were involved, but the tough ball players got in on it too. Kevin has a pretty good cannonball, and the surprise of the event.. even Dan went off the high dive!! Just goes to show that these tough Gerratt men are still boys at heart!

Here the young adults are being lined up for according to their age and their percieved ability to run. Notice how I (diane) am out in front of every one. They should have put me farther ahead. I still came in last! The races were so fun. We did races by age groups according to a request by Grandma. We had great participation. Of course, how could anyone say no to Grandma Gerratt!!

After our swimming adventures and picnic in the park, we were all ready to take a rest. Looks like Grandma found a comfortable yet somewhat unwilling pillow.

This picture, posted by request of mom, is of me, alan and bev wowing the crowd with our ability to act in our skit. We might have been good, but we didn't steal the show.

Of course the 4rth of July would not be the 4rth of July without... You guessed it... FIREWORKS!!!!
